Do not fall for the anime's illusion. If you only watch the anime, you probably think Ayanokoji is an edgy, silent robot who never speaks unless he has to. This is completely inaccurate to the source material.

In the Light Novels, Ayanokoji's internal monologue is incredibly active. He makes jokes, he gets confused by social interactions, and he constantly lies to the reader to hide his true intentions. The anime cut out about 50% of his personality to make him look cooler.
